Two women now face felony charges after allegedly attempting to steal hundreds of dollars worth of clothing from a local department store Saturday.
Kyla Rose Kibler, 17, of Puryear Lane, Dunn, and Makayla Ann Bass, 17, of Crepe Myrtle Lane, Dunn, are charged with felony larceny by removing antitheft devices following an incident at the Dunn Belk store.Dunn Police were called after the loss prevention employee at Belk said he saw Ms. Kibler on camera going in and out of the Belk’s building from the store’s dressing room. Dunn Police officers found stolen clothes both in the dressing room of the store and in neat piles in the suspects’ vehicles. The clothes were various sports clothes items.
The total value of items stolen by Ms. Bass came to $497.41 and Ms. Kibler’s stolen items totaled $671.88.
The pair were first removing the anti-theft devices on the clothes and putting them in the pockets of items left on the rack, according to police.
The pair made their first appearance in court Monday.
