Memorial Scholarship Fund Program Set
A memorial scholarship fund program in remembrance of Deacon Curtis C. Ray Sr. will be held June 3 at 7 p.m. at Dunn Chapel FWB Church. The speaker will be Larry Burnett, formerly of Dunn.
The Memorial Scholarship Fund service will continue June 5 at 11 a.m. with guest speaker retired Maj. Steve L. Jones. He received both his undergraduate and master’s degree in Guidance & Counseling from North Carolina A& T State University, and his second master’s degree at North Carolina State University in School Administration (Principal’s License). He is the director of JROTC, and founded the JROTC Summer Camp at Oak Ridge Military Academy, Driver’s Ed and was the interim assistant principal at Triton High School. Maj. Jones has served in and out of the United States in several Army Divisions. He serves on many local Board of Directors and speaks to numerous organizations throughout the year. Maj. Jones is married to the former Zelphia Hinnant and they have three children.
