Area Students Are Guests Of Kiwanis Club Of Coats
Five students from Coats Elementary, one from Buies Creek Elementary and one from Coats-Erwin Middle along with members of their families joined the Kiwanis of Coats at its regular meeting June 6 at Ron’s Barn.
Laila Robinson, president of the Coats Elementary School KKids, presented the many accomplishments they have for the year. She explained that the KKids club is about helping others and giving where there is need; not just receiving or having socials. Some of the ways they give back is by helping UNICEF reach countries to save mothers and babies from Tetanus, participating in Books Around the World and the Buddy Pack Pack program. Awards the club earned were for scrapbook, speech and arts in the Carolinas District of North and South Carolina.
“Laila is a great example for both leadership and speaking skills that Kiwanis desires for all the sponsored youth programs,” said Coats Kiwanis President Jennifer Flowers.
