More than 300 cadets received Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees from Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, Va., during its spring commencement ceremony. Commencement speaker U.S. Sen. Timothy M. Kaine addressed the Class of 2016 in VMI’s Cameron Hall. Graduating cadets included the following:
• Travis A. Fudge of Fuquay-Varina, received a Bachelor of Arts degree in history. Graduating honors include Army Commission and With Distinction. Cadet Fudge’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. John Steven Fudge.
• Andrew T. Starnes of Fuquay-Varina received a Bachelor of Arts degree in history. Graduating honors include Army Commission and With Distinction. Cadet Starnes’ parents are Mr. and Mrs. Bradley T. Starnes.
Founded in 1839, Virginia Military Institute is the nation’s oldest state-supported military college.
