The 2015-2016 school year is coming to a close, and what better time to do a little preparation for the 2016-2017 school year than the days of summer?
The Bright Ideas grant program helps to fund innovative, classroom based ideas for today’s young, technology minded students. If you have a great idea to reach those students in the coming year, a Bright Ideas grant application might help you get there.
For the 2016-2017 school year, South River EMC expects to award $50,000 for classroom projects and materials. Statewide, cooperatives will fund over $530,000 in grants. Teachers, who must be from a certified K-12 public school, can apply for a maximum grant amount of $2,000 from the cooperative.
If you apply by the early bird deadline, you’ll be eligible to win a $100 Visa gift card. To be eligible you must submit your grant application by Aug. 15.
If you don’t currently have an idea, you have plenty of time; the final application deadline is Sept. 23. Take your time in completing a grant, you can save it and return to finish, grants do not have to be completed in one sitting.
Always be sure to have someone proof your grant, this goes a long way in avoiding errors and submitting a great proposal. Don’t forget to have your principal’s approval before the grant is submitted.
This year, the Bright Ideas Grant program surpassed $10 million in funding and has touched the lives of over 2 million North Carolina students.
Now is your time to visit www.ncbrightideas. com and get that great classroom idea out there for others and your students to see. Remember, grants submitted to South River EMC must be done so through the Bright Ideas website.
