Collectors, antique lovers and bargain hunters cruised the U.S. 301 corridor last Friday and Saturday, searching for deals along the route during the fourth annual 301 Endless Yard Sale.

The Endless Yard Sale, inspired by the 690-mile long 127 Yard Sale that runs from Addison, Mich., to Gadsden, Ala., began in 2013 on the 30-mile stretch of U.S. 301 across Johnston County, from Kenly to Benson. Since then, the route has tripled in length, expanding to include Halifax, Nash, Wilson and Harnett counties.

The event is a piece of pure Americana — slow lines of vehicles with plates from South Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, Florida, Maryland, Rhode Island, Texas, New York and New Jersey jam the ribbon of road winding through small towns in the heart See Yard Sale, Page 7
