A man wanted in Cumberland County for first-degree rape and sexual offense with a child was arrested Monday morning at the Downtown Motor Inn, 410 S. Clinton Ave. in Dunn.
United States marshals with the Eastern District of North Carolina Violent Fugitive Task Force were called in by the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office to assist in the arrest of 53-year-old Calvin Gene McNeill of Dunn, according to an official with the U.S. Marshals Service.
The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office became involved in the case Sept. 14, 2015, after the investigation was forwarded to them from the Fayetteville Police Department. Mr.
McNeill is being held in the Cumberland County Jail under a $50,000 secured bond.
