Marie Wood McDonald West, 91, of Spring Lake, N.C., passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2016. She was born on June 8, 1925, to Edgar and Martha Smith Wood.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Carl J. McDonald Sr. and Devon West; brothers, Carol Wood and Paul Wood; sisters, Eula Tippett, Melba Canaday, Pearl Norman, Lois Young, Annie Lou Rhodes and Grace Raynor; and grandson, Chad Howard McDonald.
Mrs. West is survived by daughters, JoAnn Clark and Brenda Glover and friend Jimmy Marshburn; sons, Carl Mc-Donald Jr. and Paul McDonald and wife Brenda; sisters, Eloise Raynor and Edna Ferrell; grandchildren, Wendy (Allen) Coats, Rose (Bill) Pannhoff, Amanda Clark, Larry (Milva) Clark, Jr. and Paula (Timmy) Holder; great-grandchildren, Logan (Travis) Boatwright, Erin (Eric) Blaesing, Jason McCoy, Lauren Clark and Megan Clark; and great-great-grandchildren, Noah, Madison and Ava Blaesing.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 26, 2016, at Bethel Baptist Church in Spring Lake with Pastor Rupert Rivenbark and Curtis Rogers officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family received friends and family at a visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, July 25, 2016, at Adcock Funeral Home in Spring Lake.
