Triton softball coach Mark Whitman and his South Johnston counterpart, Amanda Miller Smith, will continue on the diamond but will have new responsibilities this school year.
Whitman will be coaching girls golf in the fall for the Hawks. Smith will be taking over the varsity girls basketball program at South with the retirement of Ronda Johnson, who will continue to help.
Whitman will remain assistant athletic director at Triton.
He coached defensive line in football last season and said he will continue to be involved with the gridders in a reduced role.
