Godwin Man Charged With Larceny By Employee

Carlie C’s IGA employee Jason Nathanial Williams, 32, of Godwin was charged with larceny May 7 after the manager of the Carlie C’s IGA on East Cumberland Street received an anonymous tip.

According to the report, the grocery store manager told police he received a phone call from someone who said a man was selling meat from Carlie C’s boxes in an area trailer park.

After reviewing security video footage, Mr. Williams was identified and seen pushing a cart with five boxes of meat out of the back door of the store, returning with an empty cart. Dunn investigators obtained a warrant for Mr. Williams’ arrest. He was taken into custody and transported to the Harnett County Jail.

Mr. Williams was charged with larceny by employee and given a $3,000 secured bond.

According to the report, Mr. Rose appeared extremely nervous following the May 7 traffic stop. During a search, officers saw Mr. Rose attempt to discard a small plastic bag containing methamphetamine. He was taken to the Harnett County Jail where he was charged with felony possession of methamphetamine in addition to lesser charges of drug paraphernalia and driving with a revoked license. He was given a $5,000 secured bond.
