Robert E. Doss, 87
Robert Edward Doss, 87, of Lillington died May 31, 2016, at his home.
He was born in Cameron, son of the late James W. and Flora Atkins Doss. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a veteran of World War II. Mr. Doss was a member of Kathleen Masonic Lodge 338 in Lakeland, Fla. He enjoyed NASCAR, fishing and watching western movies. He was a member of Crestview Baptist Church in Lakeland and Lillington Baptist Church. Mr. Doss retired from Operating Engineers Local 77 as a crane and heavy equipment operator. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, June 18, at O’Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Chapel with military and Masonic rites.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Doss; daughters, Donna Friend of Martinsburg, Va., and Judy Mansur of Fairhope, Ala.; stepchildren, Lynwood McDonald, Norma Murphy and Tommy McDonald; grandchildren, Kelly, Danny and Ricky; great-grandson, Sean; and nieces and nephews.
