DUNN POLICE REPORTS

• Kathy Marie McArthur, 35, of Dunn was charged with identity theft for giving a fictitious name to police after she was stopped for shoplifting. According to reports, Ms. McArthur attempted to conceal several items of women’s clothing in her purse and a shopping bag at the Belk store in Dunn May 12. She told police she did not have any identification with her, and gave the name and birth date that actually belonged to an acquaintance. Police took her into custody and processed her under the fictitious name until she was positively identified. Ms. McArthur was taken to the Harnett County Jail and charged with felony fraud in addition to lesser charges of larceny, resisting a public officer and giving fictitious information to an officer. She was given a $7,500 secured bond.

• Dunn Police arrested 22-year old Madison McKenzie Barfield May 16 after she attempted to conceal several items of merchandise in the Dunn Walmart and receive a refund for items she had not purchased. Ms. Barfield was taken to the Harnett County Jail and charged with felony larceny and obtaining property by false pretense and misdemeanor larceny. She was given a $2,500 secured bond.
