Mozelle T. Ligon, 96

Mozelle Tingen Ligon, 96, of Lillington died Sunday, July 24, 2016, at Universal Healthcare.

She was born March 26, 1920, in Harnett County to the late Raymond and Liller Ausley Spence. She was preceded in death by husbands, James M. Tingen Jr. and H. Bernice Ligon; a son, James Larry Tingen; a great-granddaughter, Vanessa Zembellas; and siblings, Oma, Clifton, Magdalene, Joseph and Jossie.

Mrs. Ligon was a member of Christian Light Christian Church but attended Summerville Presbyterian Church after moving to Lillington. She enjoyed cooking and often brought meals to friends, family and those in need.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Harnett Memorial Park. The family will receive friends following the graveside service at the cemetery and other times at the home of Sandra and Kenneth Sexton.

Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Sexton and husband Kenneth of Lillington; granddaughters, Catherine S. Knepper and husband Tim of Des Moines, Iowa, Jennifer T. Wood and husband Brandon of Willow Spring, Rebecca S. Sasser and husband Eddie of Raleigh and Melissa Tingen of Lillington; great-grandchildren, James and Frances Knepper, Ryan and Katelyn Wood, Ella and Nathan Sasser and Aiden Blaschak; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Summerville Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 640, Lillington NC 27546.
